Reiki is passed down from Master to Student. A student of Reiki is Attuned to the Reiki energy by their Reiki Master, which enables them to use the energy to benefit themselves and others. When the student becomes the Master it enables them to Attune others to Reiki. A Reiki lineage shows the path of Reiki through the Masters from Dr. Mikao Usui, who rediscovered the ancient art of Reiki in the early 20th Century.
Although Reiki Lineage is not really important for the receiver of Reiki, as Reiki is Reiki and it's all good, as a practitioner I love to get a sense of how Reiki found me and how we all fit together in the family of Reiki. There is a wonderful sense of synchronicity, destiny and honour about the gift of Reiki.
