PROFILE on Shooting People

E-MAIL DANIEL

INTRODUCTIONInspired to become actor due to his love of films and television, as well as listening to actors talking about their careers, Daniel made the decision and commitment to pursue his dream career. He did his formal training part-time with The Actors Theatre School, North London as well as studying for his LAMDA qualifications.

While he has been trained in the theatre arts, he has focussed more on screen acting. After enroling on a course in screen acting at a studio, which also happened to be developing a major feature film, this gave him the ideal opportunity of gaining professional experience in front of the camera. A number of small feature trailers were shot leading to a full length feature film in which he played the part of a Roman Guard.

Since then Daniel has worked on several major motion pictures such as THUNDERBIRDS, AGENT CODY BANKS 2 and ALFIE as a featured extra. His television work have included dramas and commercials, including SILENT WITNESS, AUF WIEDERSEHEN PET and HOLBY CITY for the BBC.

"At this stage my career I am more interested in developing as well as finding myself as an actor. I see acting as an ongoing learning process where one discovers things about one's self and the characters one plays. I have recently discovered that black people have made significant contributions to British society down the ages but this is never reflected in history lessons at school, nor period drama on television. I grew up believing black people never made any contributions the threads of British society down the centuries. I was recently pleasantly surprised to learn differently. This is the impetus for me not to discard Shakespeare nor especially period drama as there are so many untold stories waiting to be told".
